KeHE Brings Its Market Expertise To Naturally Chicago Insights at SPINS
KeHE Distributors, a Naturally Chicago co-founder, services 30,000 stores across the nation with Good Food and natural products — with more to come as new lead distributor for the Independent Natural Food Retailers Association (INFRA). KeHE handles more than 70,000 product SKUs, adding more than 15,000 in 2018 alone, and maintains 15 state-of-the-art distribution centers that send more than 500 trucks to customers across the United States.
Now KeHE is bringing its expertise to the next Naturally Chicago Insights program, next Wednesday (July 17), 8:30-10 a.m. at SPINS, 222 W. Hubbard St. This informative program — featuring Katie Paul, KeHE Vice President for Category Management and Growth Solution — is of interest to anyone involved in Good Food. And it is a can’t-miss opportunity for early-stage and emerging entrepreneurs to learn how to get their products placed on more grocery store shelves: In addition to Katie, other KeHE category managers will be in attendance.
Along with being an industry powerhouse led by CEO Brandon Barnholt, KeHE is a highly principled, employee-owned company — it is one of the world’s largest B Corporations, a certification given to businesses that are a force for good, balancing purpose and profit. The company also operates KeHE Cares, a philanthropic unit that provides its employee-owners with volunteer opportunities in the U.S. and abroad.
The Insights event kicks off a 8 a.m. with a networking breakfast reception catered by Good Food Accelerator alum KitchFix. It is free for Naturally Chicago members and $10 for non-members; visit naturallychicago.com for the link to register.
The program will begin with Katie Paul leading a discussion about what products are increasingly finding placement on grocery shelves (and KeHE delivery trucks). She will highlight issues such as distributor costs associated with going to market, opportunities for brands, and what KeHE looks for when adding products to their distribution lineup.
Katie will then turn the microphone over to Amy Feldman, Senior Vice President for Lifeway Foods, whose success at turning once-obscure kefir — the probiotic fermented dairy drink — into a burgeoning market sector serves as a role model for other Good Food entrepreneurs.
Katie then wraps things up with a discussion of KeHE’s new INFRA partnership. Patrick Sheridan, INFRA’s Chief Operating Officer, will be at the Insights event and available for questions.
Don’t miss what is sure to be a lively event, filled with great business-building takeaways!
