Kailey Donewald is a holistic health expert who founded Sacred Serve, her plant-based gelato company, in 2016. She is a 2019 graduate of the Good Food Accelerator’s 5th entrepreneur cohort, and on November 6, she won the Audience Choice Award at the Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference’s Naturally Chicago Pitch Slam (the second consecutive year she won that award). Kailey will discuss how she came up with the idea for Sacred Serve and how she has developed it into a fast-growing company in the better-for-you indulgence space.
Kailey is a certified holistic health practitioner and wellness advocate who spent the last 10 years traveling and living throughout parts of India and Southeast Asia studying under leading practitioners in the fields of yoga, meditation, Eastern medicine, and alternative therapies. It was here she first discovered the powerful connection between diet and disease — having healed herself of several chronic conditions through a nutrient-dense, plant-based diet alone.
After years in financial consulting, she left to found her holistic health coaching practice where she worked one-on-one with clients to uncover the root causes of dis-ease and bring balance and vitality back into their lives. Sacred Serve was born out of the desire to affect greater change across a broader landscape. Through delivering raw, nutrient-dense treats to market, Sacred Serve drives positive consumer habits by eliminating the tradeoff between premium indulgence and powerful nutrition.
