Every week we hear about companies raising money, but we don’t usually hear about the work it took to get to that point. It’s easy to underestimate the preparation, time, and mental and emotional energy it takes to get from first knowing when outside capital will be necessary to receiving a wire transfer of funds from an investor. Where to start? What to prioritize? How to position the business to an investor (instead of a consumer)? What’s important to an investor? What’s acceptable and what’s not?
Michael and Tom are industry veterans who — with Jeff Grogg of JPG Resources, a third industry veteran partner — recently launched Brandjectory, a unique platform specifically for early-stage CPG brands and investors to build relationships, and to support founders becoming better prepared to raise capital. In this Office Hours session, Michael and Tom will review key capital raise preparation best practices as well as the art and science behind investor criteria, to help founders prepare and navigate the capital raise process better.
