Dom's Doubles Up with Second Chicago Store

The Grand Opening of Dom’s Kitchen & Market’s second store, located in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood, featured a 200-pound cheesecake from Chicago’s Eli’s Cheesecake Company.. Dom’s Kitchen & Market opened its second store on the morning of November 1 in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. And that ginormous Eli’s Cheesecake in the photo above was not the only thing big about the Grand Opening ceremony.

The new store, located at 1233 N. Wells St., is very much modeled after the innovations of the first store, which opened in June 2021 at the north end of the Lincoln Park neighborhood. It too is an experiential combination of grocery store, grab-and-go convenience store and food hall (with all the same restaurants from Store #1 repeated at Store #2).

But there is a big difference. The new store is much larger, with about twice as much shelf space as the original, which has enabled roughly a doubling of the grocery products the store is carrying.

While the food service is in the center of the first store, it is located in a corner of the perimeter of the second store. The new store has more of a grocery shopping feel to it, with neatly organized center aisles and a perimeter for the much-larger produce selection, the meat and fish counters (see photo below), and the cold cases.
