Production of food and other consumer products has been in Chicago’s DNA since its earliest days. The city played a major role in the industrialization of U.S. food and consumer products in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
In our current era, Chicago has become a magnet for people pushing for a more decentralized system, based on food and other natural products produced as locally as possible, using regenerative, humane and fair practices that are better for people, better for the environment and better for animals.
That’s why we created Naturally Chicago. And that’s why you should become an engaged member.
Leadership and Mentorship
Naturally Chicago was co-founded by four leaders in the region’s Good Food and Natural Products ecosystem: Brandon Barnholt of KeHE Distributors, Tony Olson of SPINS, Jim Slama of FamilyFarmed, and Bill Weiland of Presence Marketing. They have recruited other industry powerhouses who love to share their knowledge and help entrepreneurs thrive and grow their companies. Every Naturally Chicago event is a powerful learning experience.
Connection and Community
From its launch in May 2019, Naturally Chicago held dozens of live networking events that brought our growing Good Food and Natural Products community closer together. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we pivoted immediately to keep our community connected through a robust schedule of online programming. We’re so pleased that live programming has returned, with opportunities to build new business relationships, make new friends with common interests… and yes, we do have fun!
