Takeway Excerpts from Christina’s Presentation

“I am the CEO and founder of a small agency called MaiTai, which has developed out of a more traditional content strategy agency that I had called 44 Larkmoor Creative. My background is in creating content and creating content strategies that... help businesses grow their following, grow their engagement, grow their conversions, and ultimately be able to sell more.”

“Time is money and every dollar counts. AI really is the solution for cost-effective, time-efficient and exceptional content, strategy and creation.”

“The problem for startups, for smaller companies, for natural food companies who operate on very slim margins, is that authentic, high-end content creation is absurdly expensive and really time-consuming. Many small startups do not have the time and energy and money to be able to create this kind of content in the quantity and the quality that you need to be able to create it.”

“Content is king, almost all marketing now is content... That's really what AI is helping to do. Now, I will give you the caveat, which is that AI cannot do it alone. One of the things that we've really learned at MaiTai is what AI is really, really good for and what it is not great at. So far, it is not great at creating that human experience and that human connection. It's it's very, if you will, robotic. You don't get a lot of insights without asking the right questions. You have to really explore and delve into AI and not be afraid of it.”

“Basically, why do we want to use AI?... It can use the entire internet of information. It can help with data analysis, it can help with market research, it can help with trend identification, it can help enable your team to pinpoint the most effective content and strategies quickly... If you're using the human touch with AI, you can definitely create more authenticity than AI would be able to create, you can create personal connections that AI isn't able to create. And you can really combine those two into that smart, data-driven decision making and that personal connection and authenticity. And then obviously, it's faster... It's also exponentially less expensive... There are so many free tools that we can use immediately...”

“You are doing market research, you are finding out who your audience is, you're finding out what your audience is interested in, you're finding out what keywords your audience searching for, you're finding out unexpected insights in terms of ways that you can cut through the clutter and deliver content that that helps sell your product.”

“What we [MaiTai] do in a content strategy is, after we do all the data research, data marketing research, the SEO research, we scrape...comments on Google, we scrape comments on Netflix, on Google Maps, on Forum on Reddit, to be able to find out a user’s sentiments around certain products. And then we create content pillars out of that information and out of those insights. Once we create those pillars and once we create a buyer persona, then we're able to start creating content...”

“If you don't have a plan, you're just putting content out there and hoping against hope that something will resonate... Going viral is a lucky thing. But if you do know what your people are already looking for, what your audience is already interested in, you are 10 times more likely to create content that can become viral. “

“You need to create content that can help you get that message out there. And it needs to be quality content, it needs to be content that's valuable to your audience. A lot of mistakes that people make are creating content, it's only branding, it's only advertising, it's only trying to make the sale, when really the secret sauce is create content that is a value to people so that they will come looking for it and they will stay and learn from you. You'll develop credibility, you'll gain personalization, a relationship with those people, they'll come to you for answers. And you'll build a community around your product, and then you'll be able to sell a lot more to your audience.”

“There are tons of AI tools... Obviously ChatGPT is the big one. That's what we all heard of. That's the one that just launched last year and that's been making the biggest strides in terms of AI. It's free.”

“Because of AI, we're able to hyper-personalize content by tailoring that content specifically to the user preferences and behaviors that we have discovered in the data, the market research that we have found using AI. Again, it can help us optimize content distribution across channels, which channels to use, where your audience is looking.”

“So here's an example of a vague AI prompt: ‘Write something about cannabis gummies.’ It could be anything, versus a good, very specific AI prompt, which is ‘create a 500-word blog post targeted at adults aged 25 to 40, highlighting the benefits of using our cannabis gummies for relaxation and stress relief, include a section on the natural ingredients used in our gummies. Emphasize their THC and CBD content and mention our current summer discount promotion.’ So just imagine the quality of content that you're gonna get out of ChatGPT using the second prompt versus using the first prompt.”
